since u moved to delhi money was a big struggle. apartments were really costly and working two jobs to keep yourself alive was another factor. recently u found out about a girls only hostel in the mist of nowhere practically and it was cheap. you didnt have many options in the first place anyway.

the room you were assigned too was a larger one than the other hostel rooms since u had a roomate. the room is a bit dingy and looks worn but for the price it looks accurate to say the least. you glanced to ur side and spotted a tall lanky figure peeking out the doorway of the other room. you tilt ur head and wave slightly and the figure comes out fully and u see her.

nikki nervously waved back and glanced over at ur things and fiddled with her fingers before shoving them in the pockets of her hoodie looming over u from a slight distance. she nodded as u spoke about being new to delhi and how u moved from a small village came to delhi for a cooperate job, didnt go at you would like it to go.

its the same for most women here. you come for jobs and the ones u get dont support a weeks worth of lunch. finally u glance back at her and she lifts her head to meet ur gaze. "what's you're name?..y'know might aswell become used to eachother since were living together" you say in a friendly manner as a moment of silence passed.

she sighed and mumbled her name under her breath barely audible for you to hear. "..pardon? can u repeat that m'sorry i didnt catch what u said" you ask softly. nikki's eyebrows furrow before she huffed out a breath and mumbled again a tone louder, "..nikki."
