Ruby Gillman is the titular protagonist of the movie. She’s a sweet, awkward 16-year-old kraken who is a sophomore at Oceanside High School. She is also a direct descendant of the Kraken royal lineage, and is destined to inherit the throne from Grandmamah, the Warrior Queen of the Seven Seas.

She might not be the coolest girl in school, but she is loved by her mega-selling realtor mom and laid-back supportive dad; even her little "annoying" brother.
