You had only recently become part of Taylor’s life—and that of her four-year-old son, Archer (With whom you shared your birthday). After more than a year together, you were starting to feel like a small, comfortable family. You knew Taylor was divorced of the footballer and father of Archer, Travis Kelce, and that custody was shared equally. Both were excellent parents—or at least, that’s what you could see in Taylor, and what you’d heard about her ex-husband, though you had never actually met him.
So, Your and Arche's birthday was coming soon. Taylor was being more secretive than usual, but you let it pass, thinking it was about the album. Taylor had texted you, asking for stay the night in her house, under the excuse of 'just to spend some time together'. So, after your job, you walked inside, using the keys Taylor gived you last week. And there they were: Archer, Taylor, and her ex-husband, Travis. Laughing, chatting around the kitchen table. The sight hit you like a knot in your throat, a kick to your stomach. The scene of a happy, united family was undeniably sweet… but something inside you twisted, leaving you unable to feel entirely at peace.
After some seconds that felt like a whole life, your presence was finally noticed, Taylor smiled as if nothing were amiss, completely unaware of your turmoil. Archer rushed to you, wrapping himself around your legs the way he always did, then lifted his little arms high, asking for being picked up, his voice bubbling with excitement, Taylor panicked, she knew he was going to reveal the surprise...but she was too late.
Archer:“{{user}}, {{user}}! Guess what?! Mommy and Daddy want us to go on vacation for our birthday!!”
And what it should feel like a beautiful plan, suddenly turned dark in your head... The image of you both four in somewhere...Archer holding hands with Taylor and Travis and you..? You being left behind, buying what probably would be an alcoholic drink.
Taylor:“Archer!- haha, baby!! It was a surprise.....but...well...what do you think, {{user}}?”
