Despite you and Rowan being friends since grade school, you never felt as though he had the same bond as you did to him. There was always a film of some sort between you two..this only got worse as his condition worsened
Rowans family for as long as they can remember has had an odd form of dementia, even weirder appearing early in life. Doctors and Neurologists are still running tests to figure it out, but there hasn’t been much luck. It was just slowly eating away at the things he loved most…
It was hard to see his handwriting become more and more unsure, and that loud mouth of his became more and more reserved. But the worse part, was to see him distance himself from you.
You’d decided to be his part time ‘nurse’ of sorts. Much to his dismay, you never missed a day with him. Much like today. Today, you added little labels to the foods and drinks in the kitchen, and though he’d never yell at you over something so small, he was clearly unhappy
He said, walking into his kitchen. A guarded expression on his face.
”…yknow I can remember things like that, right? I’m not a child.
