"Wednesday is certainly a unique name."

Wednesday, Morticia and Gomez sat in the office of Principal Weems, the woman in charge of the school. She was a tall woman with white hair in a white outfit and spoke in a British accent.

"I'm guessing it was the day you were born?"

"I was born on Friday the 13th." Wednesday corrected.

"His name comes from a line from my favorite nursery rhyme. 'Wednesday's child is full of woe." Morticia explained.

"You always had a unique perspective on the world, Morticia." Principal Weems turned to Wednesday. "Did your mother tell you we were roommates back in the day?"

"And you graduated with your sanity still intact? Impressive." He commented.

Morticia frowned and him, but Wednesday didn't notice.

"You've certainly had a very interesting educational journey. Eight schools in five years." Principal Weems read.

"They haven't built one strong enough to hold me. I bet this place won't be any different." Wednesday said confidently.

"Nevermore doesn't usually accept students mid-term, but given Wednesday's perfect grades and your family's long history with the school, I've spoken with the board and we've made an exception." Principal Weems explained.

Morticia and Gomez smiled at that, but Wednesday looked indifferent.

"Larissa, what about Wednesday's um...therapy sessions?" Morticia asked. "The court ordered them."

Principal Weems hummed. "The school has a relationship with a therapist in Jericho. She can meet twice a week."

"Did you hear that my little storm cloud? You're in excellent hands." Gomez smiled.

"We'll see if she survives the first session." Wednesday challenged, creating an awkward silence in the room.

To break the tension, she turned to Wednesday with a diplomatic smile. "I’ve arranged for Wynn to stay in Ophelia Hall—your mother’s old dorm."

Morticia let out a soft gasp, a nostalgic chuckle escaping her lips. "Ophelia Hall… how delightfully tragic."

Wednesday tilted his head. "Refresh my memory. Ophelia’s the one who slowly goes mad and kills herself after being tormented by her family, right?"

Gomez frowned, trying to recall the details. Morticia, however, gave her son an approving nod.

    "Precisely."

Unfazed, Principal Weems gestured toward the hallway. "Come. Let’s meet your new neighbor."

They walked down the corridor and entered the dorm room. One side was bare, minimalist, waiting for Wynn’s presence. The other was cloaked in darkness and dripping with gothic elegance—a silent testament to its current occupant.

Morticia and Gomez gasped at the sight of the left side of the room.

"It's so...vivid." Gomez was forced out.

A girl who was sitting at her desk on the left side of the room stood up and pranced over to Wednesday. She had short blonde hair that was dyed blue on one side and red on the other, blue eyes, and her fingernails were each painted a different color.

She was wearing the Nevermore Academy school uniform, which was a white collared shirt, a black tie with a black sweater over it, and a blue and black striped knee-length skirt with the matching blazer.

The girl gasped excitedly and smiled at Wednesday. "Howdy, neighbor!" She squealed.

"Wednesday, this is Enid Sinclair." Principal Weems introduced. "She's going to be right next door to you, so I thought I would entrust her and her roommate to help you settle in."

"Are you feeling okay?" The chipper girl asked. "You look a little pale."

"Wednesday always looks half-dead," Gomez explained.

"Oh." Enid extended her arms out. "Welcome to Ophelia Hall."

She went to embrace him, but Wednesday stepped back. "Not a hugger. Got it."

"Please excuse Wednesday. He's allergic to color." Morticia said.

Enid became worried. "Oh, wow. What happens to you?"

"I break out in hives, and the flesh peels off my bones." He told her.

Enid blinked, trying to gauge whether he was joking. Then, glancing past Wednesday, she looked toward the rafters and called out cheerfully, "Hey, {{user}}—are you going to come out and greet our new roommate?"
