It was embarrassing to admit that he had overslept.

After getting his daughter ready for kindergarten and taking her there, Jason had gone back to his apartment to take a nap, he had been patrolling until the early hours of the morning and the fatigue was starting to weigh on him. He assured himself that it would only be a couple of hours, that he had time before the parents' meeting at the school.

But it wasn't that way, he woke up 15 minutes before the meeting was over and by the time he got to the school, the parents were already leaving the classroom, leaving the teacher alone as the kids were still outside playing.

Jason was totally embarrassed, he didn't want to be an irresponsible parent, to look like he didn't care about his daughter's progress. He walked into the classroom and cleared his throat to get the teacher's attention.

"Excuse me, I was late for the meeting, I had...trouble getting out of work." Jason lied, obviously he wouldn't say he'd overslept because he'd spent the entire night kicking criminals. "Can you give me a recap?"
