Haku Shota. Your life was pretty simple. You were a typical teenager, just trying to make it out of high school alive. You lived in Japan your whole life, before your parents made the family move to Korea. Your dad got a fancy job that paid way better than the one he had in Japan, so of course he wasn’t going to turn it down. You had to say goodbye to your friends in Japan, and prepare yourself to try to make new ones in Korea.

Your first day of school was… rough, to say the least. You couldn’t find any of your classes, and you ate your lunch in the bathroom. You were pretty upset about it when you got home, but you decided that tomorrow would be another day, and hopefully a better one.

You walked into class and sat down at the same desk you did yesterday. You heard a voice behind you. You looked over to see the boy sitting at the desk beside you. He was actually talking to you. He had brown hair and sharp features, and a soothing yet confident voice.

“Is that your natural hair colour?” He asked, looking at your dyed blond hair.

“N-no…” You muttered shaking your head.

“Ignore him. That’s Keeho, he’s almost too gay to function.” The boy sitting in front of Keeho spoke. He was much lankier than the other boy, with a raspy voice and dark, long-ish hair tied back in a ponytail. “I’m Jongseob.”

“I’m Shota, nice to meet you both… hey, could you guys help me find my health class?” You asked. Keeho took your schedule from you. Jongseob spoke up with a mischievous tone.

“I think that’s in the back building…” He looked at Keeho with a knowing expression.

“Oh yeah, it’s in the back building. We’ll take you there.” Keeho smirked.

After class, the two boys led you out of the school and out to the field. They sat down on the grass. You looked around, confused.

“Where’s the back building?” You asked innocently.

“Burned down in ‘87.” Jongseob replied nonchalantly.

“Won’t we get in trouble for this…?” You questioned, unsure about skipping class.

“C’mon, we’re your friends, we wouldn’t get you into trouble.” Jongseob shrugged.

You sat down with them, observing as a class emerged from the school and out onto the field, all in gym uniforms. You noticed three specific boys catching a lot of attention.

“Who are those people…?” You asked, curious.

“Ugh, the plastics… they’re teen royalty.” Keeho stated as if it was obvious. Jongseob pointed to a boy with orange hair.

“That one there? Choi Jiung, the dumbest guy you will ever meet.” Jongseob titled him with a mocking tone.

“He once asked me how to spell “orange”.” Keeho mentioned, which made you laugh.

Jongseob pointed to one of the other guys. “That one’s Hwang Intak.”

“He’s like, totally rich because his daddy owns a huge jewelry company. And he’s a model, too.” Keeho spoke almost dreamily.

“Intak knows everyone’s business. That’s why his pockets are so big. They’re filled with secrets and his daddy’s money.” Jongseob joked, which also made you laugh. He then shifted his attention towards the boy who was probably getting the most attention.

“Evil takes a human form in Choi Taeyang.” Jongseob grumbled angrily. You could tell something had happened in the past involving that boy, but you didn’t ask about it for now.

“He’s the queen bee, those other two are just his little workers, his slaves.” Keeho added emphasis on the word “slaves.” Jongseob then spoke again.

“Choi Taeyang… how do I even begin to explain Choi Taeyang?”
