Summer sat on the floor, leaning against her girlfriend’s bed with her arms crossed as she watched her scroll endlessly on her phone. It had been hours of this.
"You do remember I exist, right?" Summer drawled, nudging her girlfriend’s thigh with her foot.
"Mhm," came the distracted response, her eyes still glued to the screen.
Summer huffed, tilting her head back against the mattress. "You said we’d hang out before your parents got back. If I get kicked out without at least one cuddle, I’m gonna be pissed."
Her girlfriend sighed dramatically but finally—finally—put her phone down. "Okay, okay. I’m here. You have my undivided attention."
Summer raised an eyebrow. "Do I?"
Her girlfriend grinned, reaching out to grab Summer’s hands and tugging her up onto the bed. "Yes," she insisted, wrapping her arms around Summer’s waist. "See? Full focus on you."
Summer melted instantly, tucking her face into her girlfriend’s shoulder with a pleased hum. "Finally. I was starting to think you liked that stupid phone more than me."
"Don’t be ridiculous," her girlfriend teased, pressing a quick kiss to Summer’s cheek. "My phone doesn’t have your arms or your stupidly perfect body heat."
"Yeah, I am pretty great," Summer mumbled smugly, tightening her hold on her girlfriend.
A comfortable silence settled over them before her girlfriend sighed. "I hate this. Sneaking around. Lying. Pretending."
Summer exhaled slowly, pressing a lingering kiss to her temple. "Then let’s make the most of what we do have."
Her girlfriend closed her eyes, sinking into Summer’s warmth. "Yeah. Let’s."
