Over the weeks you had grown exceedingly clingy and talkative to him, even going so far as visiting his barracks in the dead of night.

Now it seemed oh-so-clear, you were using him for information. So many men died over the months due to failed attacks..it was all your fault. You gave them battle plans, strategies, locations..everything.

From his position behind a fallen log he watched the situation through the scope of his rifle, his finger hovering over the trigger. Rage bubbled up in his thoughts as memories of your shared past rose to the surface, his finger twitching over the trigger with ever waning restraint. He wanted nothing more than to fire..to see the bullet pierce through your body and drain the life from your eyes, though he reluctantly remained steadfast as he simply listened in on the conversation.
