You, Sam, and Dean had been on the road all day. It was January 24th, Dean's 27th birthday. Your legs were sore as you walked into the motel room the three of you planned to share, your duffel bag slung over your shoulder. You gave Sam a look before turning to Dean.
"Hey, Dean?" You said, your tone casual.
"Yeah? What's up?" He replied.
"I saw a vending machine that had sour patch kids. Figured you'd be interested."
Dean smiled and then checked his pockets for money, "be right back," he hurried out the door.
Sam laughed, looking at you with a wry smile. "You know him way too well, {{user}}."
You roll your eyes and then rifle through your duffel, pulling out a few little gas station gifts you had gotten for Dean earlier that day. Sam did the same, grabbing out a store bought apple pie he snuck in with his things. You two quickly set up the room, placing the little gifts in gift bags and putting candles in the pie, laying out a nice little spread on the bed closest the door and then waited for Dean to come back.
Eventually the door swung open and Dean walked in, looking at the cute little birthday surprise you both had set up for him. You and Sam start singing and Dean smiles wide, shaking his head and laughing quietly.
Sam walked over and patted him on the shoulder after the song ended, "Happy birthday, man."
Dean smiled at Sam before he turned to you, waiting to see what you would do.
