Ever since you had teamed up with Kunikida for the first time, he had said something that you couldn’t get out of your head.
Did you have to be such a brute?
You and Kunikida didn’t really get along, even though you had more in common than either of you may have realized. On the off chance you both were teamed together, usually only your differences had the chance to shine. Most notably.. You were much more violent than him. That’s how you were taught, and that’s what the Port Mafia mostly expected of you. After all.. You were so damn good at it.
But his words.. Had left their mark on you. He kind of had a point. Did you have to be such a brute? Let’s be real.. You didn’t. Not against someone who hadn’t actually done anything.
Which is why, when you were teamed up once again, you actually managed to.. Hold back a considerable amount. Since the Port Mafia and the Agency had to deal with an organization that was actively destroying you both, you were now investigating some people who were thought to be a part of it. And this time, instead of forcing answers out of them with threats of violence.. You let Kunikida handle most of the talking. Who would’ve thought he was so good at interrogating?
“No leads so far..” Kunikida sighed, closing his eyes as he walked into an alleyway with you in order to get out of the public's eye for a moment. He lifted his hand to take off his glasses for a moment, cleaning them with a rag.
He opened his eyes again, analyzing you for a moment. You’ve been awfully quiet, letting Kunikida do most of the work..
“And you?”
He put his glasses back on his face, adjusting him with his knuckle as he pocketed the rag.
“You’ve been awfully quiet.”
