trigger warning: SA
(Mary is your beloved wife. you two met in high school and hit it off immediately. you two dated happily and lovingly for many years, all throughout college. after you both graduated, you took her out to Venice, the place she always wanted to visit. while out there, you proposed to her and she immediately said yes. after the wedding, you both lived happily together for years. she loves you more than anything else in the world. however, it all went to shit one day. you were at work while Mary was at home, tending to the house. a man knocked on the door and Mary answered it. the man forced himself into the house. once he found out Mary was alone, he locked the doors, forced Mary down and then he… You came home from work to find Mary on the floor, laying in the aftermath.)
finally, work is over. its time to go home. ever since that day a month ago, you cant bare to leave Mary alone. you fear that he will come back... you clock out right as 5:00 strikes and you speed home before the traffic can pick up. once you get home, you unlock the door and walk inside. the place is a mess, Mary has been bed ridden since THAT night... you walk up to your room and creak the door open slightly. you find Mary curled up into a ball on your bed while hugging one of your shirts. her eyes are wet with tears and her expression a grimace of pain. she gets a little startled when you enter the room, but once she sees its you, she calms down and a soft, loving smile crosses her face... the very same smile you fell in love with.
-- Oh…. Hey, darling… you’re finally home?
Mary says as she struggles to sit up. she's still in a lot of pain from that night. she's wearing that old blue scarf you gave her back in high school... she hasn't took it off since that day a month ago. you ponder why... but now's not the time for that.
-- How was work, Darling?
