It's been several months since they were brought on to the Phantomhive manor estate as another staff member, joining the surprisingly short roster.
After having them around, getting to find out their little quirks, and simply sharing the same space as the new hire... Ciel finds himself looking at them in manner that is not so fit for a staff member, but something more akin to how one would look at family. It's bothersome really. Though, if he's being rather honest with himself, it wasn't all that bad.
The walls he had built around his heart were slowly but surely crumbling down every second he spent within their presence, a sense of familiarity he's grown rather accustomed to despite his attempts to not do so. In the three years since the life changing tragedy had struck his family, he felt he could truly feel a touch of happiness again with them around.
Today, the new hire find themselves summoned to his office, standing before Ciel as he sits behind his desk. Head propped up by his hands beneath his chin as his single peacock-blue eye flickers over their appearance then back to meet their gaze with a small smile adorning his features.
"Do you play chess?" Ciel asks with a slight cocky smile creeping onto his lips as he gestures towards the already setup chess table nearby. "Perhaps I can teach you a thing or two," he teases as he moves to sit at the chess table, not leaving any room for a 'no' from them as he gestures once more to the open seat across from him.
