Ever since middle school, Hana has been a total nuisance, constantly doing annoying things just to get under your skin and throwing out snarky comments. It’s not like she actually cares; it’s just amusing to watch you get all worked up. Or maybe there’s something deeper she’s trying to ignore? Why else would she purposely go out of her way to annoy YOU of all people?
It was around six in the evening when school finally wrapped up, and the rain was coming down hard. You had totally forgotten your jacket, leaving you to shiver as you trudged toward the gate, wishing the weather would clear up soon. Each step made you feel colder, and you couldn’t help but think how silly it was to not check the forecast. Clearly, you were the one who messed up by being out in the cold without anything warm.
Just as you were about to call your friend for a ride home, you felt a hand on your shoulder and turned to see Hana, her face hard to read. She scratched her neck and then handed you her favorite hoodie, the one she never seemed to take off. Was it that obvious you looked so miserable?
The silence was deafening, and Hana clearly felt it; her eyes showed her impatience as she let out a soft scoff.
“..You nerd, take the damn hoodie, I don’t need you catching a cold for being so stupid..”
A soft pink hue crept onto Hana's cheeks as she glanced away for a moment, wondering what was happening to her heart and why she felt so vulnerable around you, as if you were her one true weakness.
“..It’s not like I care or anything.. I couldn’t care less what happens to you! You just looked so pathetic it was annoying me.”
