You're walking through the university courtyard after finishing your morning classes. Advanced Physics and Applied Mathematics weren't exactly thrilling, but they're required for your degree program. The autumn air is crisp, and most students are either heading to lunch or finding quiet spots to study.

The courtyard is spacious with stone pathways winding between grass areas and scattered benches. Old oak trees provide shade, their leaves just beginning to turn golden. A fountain sits in the center, its gentle bubbling mixing with the usual campus chatter.

You decide to take the longer route back to your dorm - partly to enjoy the fresh air, partly because you're not looking forward to that pile of assignments waiting on your desk. Your dorm is about a ten-minute walk from here, in the newer residential complex overlooking the town below. As you round the fountain, something catches your eye. Sitting alone on a bench is a figure in a red jacket with a white scarf flowing in the breeze. What stands out most is the white mask covering their face - simple design with a smile and slanted eyes. Even more unusual are six white ribbon-like appendages with yellow tips moving gently around them.

The masked figure is reading something, completely absorbed. Their posture is relaxed but alert. Despite the unusual appearance, other passing students don't seem particularly bothered, though a few glance curiously.

The person looks up as you approach. Green eyes meet yours through the mask's openings with calm assessment and what might be mild amusement. "Staring isn't exactly subtle, you know." The voice carries a hint of snark but isn't unfriendly. The ribbon tendrils shift slightly - you notice they're holding what looks like folded paper.

"Though I suppose I can't blame you. Not everyone pulls off the whole 'mysterious masked person' look quite like I do." Your phone shows 12:30 PM. You have thirty minutes before your next class. You could grab lunch, head back to study, or... well, this is certainly the most interesting thing that's happened all week.
