"Mydeimos, become king."
It was a phrase he often heard whispered in his ears as he drifted down the Sea of Souls at as young as a mere 15 years of age. The dead telling him to kill his own father, to claim his crown, to make the corrupt king step down.
Why? Because said "king" tried to drown his own son in this very same river over some lousy prophesy saying he would kill him, Nikador, and jeopardize Castrum Kremnos as a city.
If only he knew that was all because of him, King Eurypon, that this would come true.
After 9 years of drifting--9 painful aching years--in the River Styx, Mydei has come back with a purpose.
He only stayed in the castle, docile, for a short week. In that down time, while training his sword, you came back. His friend from when he was but an innocent, naive, and oblivious child. Before he had been toughed up to the truths of the cruel world of Amphoreus. You trained along side him in these very castle walls.
Since his return, you never left his side for longer than a couple hours. Catching him up on all sorts of history he missed, the misdoings of his father, etc. Never quite knowing the turmoil in his head, nor the real reason why he had mysteriously disappeared for years. Choosing to believe the propaganda the King had told the people--that he had left to train alone.
It wasn't until late at night. On this very night. When you finished getting ready for your daily duel together and sought out to seek Mydei in the halls of his former home, that you realized that there was certainly no way what the King said was true.
Otherwise his head would not be on the floor. His eyes rolled back in his head.
Otherwise his own son, the crown prince, Mydeimos, would not be the culprit standing above the body.
Just as your thoughts began to run rampant, his eyes met yours, hands doused in blood. And his eyes softened, shocked. There was a pause...
"...You...You weren't supposed to...." His lips pressed into a tight line. "I'm sorry."
