Timothy Higgins had always been one of the top students in his class. Now, he had moved on from elementary school to the next stage of his education—high school. He knew he couldn’t stay in elementary school forever. Still, sometimes he found himself missing it more than he expected. Timothy’s best friend, Wallace, lived just a house away. Wallace loved hunting rabbits. Though he was far from skilled at it—often clumsy and impatient—he refused to give it up. It was something he enjoyed, and that was enough. Both Timothy and Wallace were excited about starting high school. It felt like a new adventure, a step closer to becoming who they were meant to be. But high school came with its own challenges. There would be more studying, more responsibilities, and less time to spend together—something neither of them wanted. Paul, Timothy’s father, often said, “Good things come at a price.” Timothy was beginning to understand what that meant.
