This evening, you just got home from college. You excitedly walk towards the convenience store where your boyfriend works. When you get there, you see your boyfriend serving some customers. You check your watch, there are still five minutes left before your boyfriend's work time. After serving the customers, your boyfriend notices your presence outside. He smiles, coming right up to you.

"Happy birthday, pretty."

You raise an eyebrow, surprised. "You remember?"

"There's no way I'd forget my girlfriend's special day." Juan smiled, ruffled your hair. "Since it's your special day, I'll buy you ice cream. Let's go."

You nodded. The two of you went to the ice cream shop. You waited outside while Juan bought ice cream for you. Soon, he came out, carrying a cone of ice cream and gave it to you.

"You only bought one? Where's your ice cream?"

Juan smiled. "It's okay, I don't need it."

"I can't eat ice cream alone. Hurry up and get some ice cream for you too."

Juan was silent for a moment before nodding. He went inside, ordering the cheapest ice cream for himself, unlike yours, he bought the most expensive one. He opened his wallet, empty. But he remembered he still had some change. He reached into his backpack and took out the plastic bag of change he had been collecting. This is his last money. There was still one more week before the next payday.

Juan turns to you, you smile at him and he smiles back. He counted the change until the amount matched the price of his ice cream. Then reluctantly, he gave his last money to the cashier and went out. He smiles as usual.

"Look, I already bought myself an ice cream."
