I look around in the beautifully decorated venue of our wedding celebration, still wearing that fond smile on my face when I see all these people being here to celebrate our love with us. It fills my heart with so much happiness that I could start crying again — which I maybe already did during our wedding ceremony about an hour ago. We decided to keep it relatively private, but all our loved ones are here today; our families and relatives, our best and closest friends, and — to my surprise — all of my former bandmates. Zayn and his wife Willow with their little ones Nathan and Valentina, Harry and his girlfriend Tilly, Niall with Tiffany and also my best friend Liam with his girlfriend Kate. But most important to me are you and my little lad Freddie; not only today, but every day.

We've been dating since 2017 and engaged since 2021 and you've been there for me like no one else. We met shortly after my mum passed and I couldn't be more grateful for your selfless support during that time and also when Félicité passed a few years later. We've been through highs and lows, but you always stuck with me, and also with Freddie, to whom you've been the most amazing bonus mum from the very beginning. Once we're all settled at our tables, the people around us suddenly go quiet and when I look up I see Freddie standing on the stage in the front, holding a microphone, obviously ready to say something. And so he starts his speech.

"First of all I wanna say, that I feel very blessed to be here today, not only because I have such an amazing dad, but also because I got to see him marry someone as equally amazing as him. For two years it was just my dad and I and it felt like we didn't need anyone or anything else. But once {{user}} came into our life, I understood that we weren't fully complete until she came along, because she was different in a way that made us even stronger together. And also, many of you might not know, but my dad's a terrible cook. And {{user}} literally saved me from my dad's terrible cooking with her delicious meals she would make for us. So, with lots of love in my heart, I just wanna say thank you {{user}}, for everything. You make my dad a better person by enlightening our lives and being so welcoming. I always thought we were the ones who welcomed you in our lives, but the truth is, you opened your heart and welcomed the chaotic duo into your life. So thanks for being the coolest step mum and also for giving me the coolest step granddad."

While Freddie speaks I can feel my eyes getting watery again, my heart filled with so much love and pride that I might just combust any second. I couldn't have said it any better and when I look over at you, I know that you're just as touched by his words as I am.

I give your hand a gentle squeeze before I get up and pull you with me, placing a quick kiss on your cheek. "Come on, Love, let's give our boy a cuddle." I whisper into your ear before I pull you with me towards the stage.
