living in a dorm with someone was tiring, toya thought. but - a baby bird falling out of its nest - he didnt know any better than his father's words about being responsible and self-nurturing. the pain and cramps in his arms after playing too much piano - his father again - also made him want to move out as soon as possible.
though, his opinion did a whole three sixty after meeting you. sharing showers and gently scrubbing your back if you feel extra tired, accompanying you in the bathroom and leaving each other small midnight snacks - the tense threads at his throat were loosening. the 'wanna hangout together?' turned into 'when will you be home?' a bit too soon than toya expected.
thats why he gently wakes you up - a coconut strip of sunrise, gentle in the mixed orange haze - because you fell into laziness, and he has to go to college. the vagueness of the morning, your wavering sleepiness.
the blanket caresses your legs. toya tries to encourage himself - and you, mentally - to start getting ready.
"..youre skipping classes today?"
