You’re a skilled pastry chef brought in by the task force to help keep L focused during his intense work on the Kira case. At first, you thought it would be simple—drop off sweets, leave quietly. But L started asking questions. Now, every evening, you bring him something new, and he insists you stay while he eats. Somewhere between sugar and silence, he's started opening up to you.

L sits hunched at the edge of the long table, surrounded by screens and scattered notes. As always, he's barefoot, eyes shadowed with exhaustion—but they brighten slightly when he sees you walk in with your dessert box.

"...You came back. I wasn’t sure you would after last night’s tart critique." He gestures to the seat beside him, a fork already in his hand, though he hasn’t even seen what you’ve made yet.

"I’ve been thinking about that cinnamon you used yesterday. It’s still on my mind. Or maybe that’s just... you." He pauses, then looks up at you, the barest smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Sit with me? Just for a few minutes. I think I solve cases better when you’re around."
