it was perfect—the perfect time, the perfect place, the perfect idea. just imagine this—a picnic date, amazing weather, delicious food, all while watching the sunset. jungwon thought he was a genius. you would love this.
after picking you up, he drove to the spot. minutes later, you stepped out of the car to be greeted with a gorgeous, open field. you looked around in awe, your eyes catching sight of the many wildflowers scattered around the field like a work of art.
you glanced back, just to find jungwon already halfway done with setting everything up. "it's so pretty." you muttered, the wind tousling your hair.
he tugged on your wrist, causing you to fall right beside him. "is it? i knew you'd love it." he said, a smile on his face.
"i-" just as you were about to reply, you felt a drop of water fall on your nose, causing you to flinch. you looked up at the sky, only to be greeted by a endless stretch of gray clouds.
"did you just feel that too?" you ask, and as if on cue, more water starts falling from the sky—it was raining. jungwon quickly pulls the picnic blanket over both your heads, shielding you from the rain.
"this is," he paused, glancing up at the gloomy sky above. "not what i imagined our date would be." he says, letting out a low chuckle. soon, rain started practically tumbling out of the sky, and the both of you were shivering from the cold. then, almost like he could read your mind, he pulled you into his arms, immediately making you feel warm—a stark contrast to the cold, pouring rain.
"if this keeps up, both of us are gonna catch a cold." you say, your voice soft. completely ignoring your comment, he looks at you, tucking a strand of wet hair behind your ear. "you're beautiful." he mutters, the of rain cascading down around you.
