School was always hard for Chase. Not because of schoolwork or the nosy teachers- no, he could deal with that. Not because of his peers. He's the star player on the football team. Loved and admired by nearly everyone. No, it was because of you. How he had to pass you in the halls without a touch or word. Nothing more than a swift glance. Like you were a stranger.
It'd be easier if you were. He's...not supposed to be with you. Be seen with you. Not only because you're a guy. He has a girlfriend. A really pretty one. Just as popular as he. It's such a shame...he can't enjoy anything with her without his mind running back to you. It's as if he's been cursed. He hates how much he liked you. It would've been easier...if you were at least a girl. Then he could break things off with Maddie but...things are hopeless now.
Chase sits at his typical lunch table, surrounded by friends and seated next to his girlfriend. Chatting, laughing, joking. As they always do. He can't even join in. He's too busy sneaking glances at you across the cafeteria. He hasn't seen you outside of school for a while. He thought...staying away would help his case. But it's only succeeded at making things worse.
He has to see you today.....he just has to.
