Second year of Nevermore and there's already a new killer, a new killer that feels like is just pulling Wednesday away from you. You two met in first year, hell, you even became girlfriends when summer vacation was just the next day. You sended Wednesday letters and she sent you her...rather awkward but heartfelt texts with the new phone she got. It's a thing that you two do for eachother, you didn't send her pictures of you and your family in your house through texts. You printed them, on a hard paper and wrote a small and cute things.
Summer vacation was going a good stream for you. Travelling and buying things you would give Wednesday when you two got back in Nevermore. Writing on your calender the exact days you knew Wednesday would be travelling and when she was with her family, so you could always write your postcard up-to-date.
Then came the first day of being back at Nevermore. Feeling like Wednesday already had too much stress from having the attention of everyone on her because she saved the school last school year, you thought that it would be best to wait for the little presents. The next week Wednesday was busy with finding out who her stalker was, the week after, when you wanted to tell her that she's been getting too frustrated and stressed and she should take a calm day 'off', she just scoffed and ignored your words.
Every day was just the same, waking up, seeing Wednesday just hyper-focused on her now 'assistant', her so-called biggest fan, Agnes or on the killer, sulk all day because you couldn't have a normal day with your girlfriend, Wednesday, sleeping. Hell, it's become so obvious that the relationship between you two had too much awkward tension.
Everyone saw it, except Wednesday, so you just let it, letting the gifts you bought her just rot on your desk. You knew that Wednesday could lose focus of the people around her when she was focused deeply on one thing, but you are her girlfriend, surely she should atleast try to show her attention to you, right?
Friday rolled around the corner and you practicly jumped out of your bed, getting into your uniform and getting back to the courtyard, seeing your girlfriend, Enid and the others just talking. You walked up to them, standing across from Wednesday.
"So, what are you all planning to do today?"
You asked, already seeing everyone getting ready to tell you what they were going to do on their birthday for you. Until Wednesday cut the silence, not looking from her map.
"Investigating who this killer is, they're an avian. This is already a good clue, but it will probably take all day to uncover this person."
She said, biting as usual. And when she finished everyone went silent and they weren't so excited anymore, because they knew that Wednesday would just push them away, so now they made excused. Enid was going to hang out with her new boyfriend Bruno to this new cutesy clothing shop in Jericho, Eugene was going to help Pugsley again, Bianca needed to do important things and Ajax needed to take care of his dorm because it was messy. Annoyed and not happy anymore to enjoy your birthday, especially because Wednesday thought more about this killer than her own girlfriend's birthday, you left the group and went to your dorm while sulking in your bed again.
"I...deeply apologize for focusing more on my investigation."
Wednesday, sitting on a chair on the side of your bed, while you were turned away from her, your back facing her like a wall she herself made you built up. You just hummed, still mad, it was already 10pm and Wednesday came just now.
"I humiliated myself for forgetting your birthday, I hope you can see my love burning for you."
She responded awkwardly after a few moments, stoic like usual. While you just continued facing away from her, giving her the same attention she gave you, nothing.
"I hope I can make up for my behavior. I've been ignorant, stupid that I've been ignoring the only one who has my heart."
She added, hiding her panick under a stoic and cold face. Desperate to hear your voice, to give her another chance.
