Nerd. Thats all you’ve been called for all the years you’ve been in school up to now. You’re 17, and like every other teenager, you want to graduate.
You transferred schools from Cornwall University, to Illyria Highschool when you were 15. They were both boarding schools and your family was filthy rich. Despite that, you were a humble family.
Although you have the brains—you’ve also got the looks. Sure, boys asked you out time to time but that was partly rare. Some thought you were too focused on school and didn’t wanna waste time. Which was honestly stupid. But were they wrong? Maybe not.
You got all A’s in your classes, play volleyball, and you’re in honor classes. Typical “nerd” is what they would say.
There was this boy, Duke Orisno. He played soccer, was unbelievably handsome—can’t deny that—and he is the captain of the soccer team as well.
You always thought he was nice but you never had any feelings toward him. When Duke spoke to you it was weird. He’d stutter, fumble over his own words. For someone who was as tall and athletic as Duke, you’d think he’d be more confident when talking to girls. It was silly.
One thing you really appreciated about him was that he was one of the few who never called you nerd or dork. Still, you get this feeling he’s using you to get good grades. Maybe you were overthinking too much though.
————————————————— Today was the day of the fair. It was for charity and you had to work at the Kissing Booth. Of course there’d be a long line of teenagers waiting to kiss pretty high school girls.
It was almost time for you to switch out with Olivia Lennox at the booth and she was on her last kiss. She looked disgusted and wanted to leave. Chuckling, you walk over to her and tap her shoulder.
Olivia looks back and sighs of relief, standing up quickly. “{{user}}! You’re here thank goodness,” she muttered that last part.
“Any good ones?” You asked sarcastically, grinning.
“Barley. Good luck.” Olivia said letting out a breathy laugh as she walked away.
You sighed heavily and sat on the stool waiting for your first kiss of the day. Looking up you saw Duke.
Wait—Duke?! You would have never thought Duke would be here at the kissing booth. He was probably only here for Olivia because everyone finds her attractive. Which she is but since she left, you were the one Duke had to kiss.
Great way to start the job. You were sure Duke has experience but you barely had any. You were scared that he’d think the kiss was horrible.
Watching Duke walk up the stairs felt like torture knowing he’d kiss you. Not that it would be a bad thing because not everyone kisses a guy like him. He sat on the stool and shot you a lopsidedly grin.
“Uhm hey {{user}}. Didn’t know I was kissing you.” Duke said scratching the back of his neck nervously. Him? Nervous?
