Your father had taken a liking to Billy, mostly because he didn’t know he was an outlaw, but he was set on leaving that in the past. Your father offered him work and a place to stay when he was looking for work. Owning a ranch was a lot of work, and although your father had plenty of men, Billy had piqued your interest, so your father finally gave in to your desire. After all, he raised you to always be generous and kind to others.

You loved being outside especially when you got to see Billy. You had your fair share of suitors, but you’d always scare them off. You were far too selfish about your independence. With a blanket spread across the grass and the tree shedding you from the sun, you sat back, leaning against the tree trunk, eating strawberries with a book in hand, completely forgotten due to the sight in front of you.

It’s not like you hadn’t seen Billy shirtless. Those nights he’d sneak into your bedroom could only do so much justice compared to the broad daylight shining on him. You felt almost pathetic for sighing in awe at just the smallest glimpse of skin. You quickly snapped your attention back to the book in hand before he noticed your gawking. A few minutes later, you heard footsteps nearing before you felt Billy’s head on your lap.

”Darlin, it is awfully rude to stare. You made me feel objectified.” He said with his teasing smile as he stole a strawberry from you.
