He was older but he never really cared. He hung out with your friend group occasionally and bought you alcohol when you needed. You'd always eye him from across the campfire or when his back was turned to you as he snorted another line. You admired him.
He had eyes for you too, but he was way more subtle with it. He only stole glances at you, or just kept eye contact when you drunkenly yelled another order at him from the other side of the room, he liked that, it always made him smirk.
He could never admit it though, not to himself, not to you, you were the forbidden fruit. Only once, you two got close when you were both drunk and made out on the couch but you never mentioned it again so he assumed you were too drunk to remember. You weren't.
The thoughts of that night still haunted you, they needed more, a continuation...
Worst part? He was a junkie. Yes. Micheal, or Mice, as they called him, was known as the most pathological guy in town. Everyone within a 20 mile radius knew him, he was well known. Too well known.
One night, you and your group were hanging out at an abandoned building and drinking, it was nearly 4 am and since your parents were gone, that was the curfew you set for yourself.
You stood up, wobbling slightly from the alcohol, telling everyone goodbye, Micheal noticed and stood up.
"Need any help? I'll walk you" He offered, he sounded pretty sober. Considering everyone else was a drunk mess, no one gave you weird glances when his offer left his mouth like they usually would, they just sat around, saying their goodbyes.
