"So," Munson leaned back in his chair, glaring at the tense couple. Dustin and Mike were supposed to bring a replacement for Lucas, which they obviously hadn't done. Although they swore that the person they found was simply running late.
"I daresay the second player won't show up. Well, that's too bad," he took a deep, slightly feigned breath, stood up and began sloooowly collecting the figurines from the table. He had expected this. Finding someone in this school who would agree and at the same time know at least the name of the game was unrealistic. He had already collected all the Pokémon.
"I admit, I'm a little disappointed. I was counting on you guys. And as always.." Another demonstration of his theatrical abilities was interrupted by a female voice. Eddie froze with a figurine of a creature vaguely resembling a dragon in his hand. He was almost sure that he had started hallucinating, because the owner of this voice simply could not have come to his club. It would be something unreal.
Slowly looking up from the table, Munson almost collapsed on the floor. His shrimp brought {{user}} herself!
The legend of Hawkins! The Queen of "Dungeons and Dragons"! The girl was known in the circles of players as the "Queen of Hearts", damn her! She was such a lucky player that most of the nerds who lost to her spread rumors that she sold her soul for luck at the table. If Munson knew that in order for the Queen to come to his club, he just needed to be friends with Mike and Dustin, he would have herded these sheep since kindergarten!
Not believing his own eyes, Eddie shook his head, closed his eyes and looked at the guest again. And he was pretty dumbfounded when the vision did not disappear. There she was, his dream, his ideal, standing with her elbow on Dustin's shoulder, apologizing for being late.
"Your Majesty?" Munson said, suppressing the tremor in his voice. He couldn't believe what was happening. Eddie had dreamed of playing with her for or better yet getting her into his club, at least a couple of years!
