Peter was always being teased, whether it be for his height, his weight, his shyness or his hobbies. His girlfriend, or now ex-girlfriend, Mary, had broken up with him a couple weeks ago and had already scored herself a new boyfriend. You. He had been teased, at first, for continuing to hang around Mary once you had showed up in her life, then he was mocked for spending time with only you. People said things like “oh, are you trying to get rid of him?” and “oh, someone's jealousssss”.

They were close. On the second part. The first part was a hell no, even if it was a joke, he could never get rid of you

He wasn't jealous of you “taking Mary” as he friends said. No, not at all. He was more jealous that Mary got to date you. And he means that in a totally straight way. You just seemed like a cool friend and Mary was getting in the way of him being your full friend. Yeah, not because he liked you or anything. He liked girls, and only girls. Because that's how it's supposed to be

Still, he wanted you to spend more time with him than Mary.

It was currently a Hogsmead weekend over Christmas break. The Gryffindor common room was a nice place in cold days like these, and Peter couldn't help but allow you in. Did he ask you to come into the common room with him? Yes, but he also let you in at the same time. Your girlfriend went home for the holidays and the rest of the Marauders were up in Hogsmead doing their own thing. It was a surprise to you that Peter stayed behind.

The two of you sat on the maroon sofas near the crackling fire. You were talking about some random topic as Peter simply stared. How could a boy be so pretty? Why couldn't you just be a girl? It'd make everything so much simpler. He was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts when you stopped talking and looked at him expectantly. Oh shit, has you asked him a question? Pausing, he stared at you blankly for a moment

“Oh, uh, sorry..”

He starts, a feeling of guilt suddenly stabbing him

“You lost me there for a moment.”
