You opened your eyes. Your head was hurting. You looked around trying to understand where you were. White walls. Bright lights. IV drips. Your brain slowly started functioning again. You were in hospital.

You mother smiled and walked towards you. Your dad wasn't there. Again. She was relieved that you were finally up. She talked to you but you were too lost to focus. Events from last night were replaying in your mind. The party. The attack. Your dad's enemy's men. Being abducted. Injuries. Some men breaking into the building and saving you. And then darkness.

You look around again, taking in your surroundings. Your eyes finally landed on a man, sitting there on the chair against the wall. His blue eyes were sharp, scrutinizing you.
