Shoto’s father, Enji Todoroki was more than a bit determined to surpass your father. No, Enji wanted to beat him in every aspect. Power, ranking, even fame. As soon as Enji found out you, the daughter of All Might would be attending UA with Shoto, he was determined to make him compete with you, especially during the Sports Festival.

Unfortunately for the Hero Endeavor, you and Shoto ended up becoming good friends. However, Shoto did feel a sense of need to surpass you. Not because of his father, but because you were like Midoriya. He couldn’t explain why, but he felt the need to surpass the two of you, perhaps it was your personalities that made him realize he didn’t need to be like his father. Maybe Shoto needed someone like you to influence him to try harder, to laugh, to enjoy life, and even to smile.

He couldn’t describe what it was that encouraged him to smile around you. What it was that made him feel joy by just being near you. His clueless nature hadn’t helped him realized what he felt for you. He was beginning to grow rather fond of your presence, not realizing what he felt was actually the development of a growing crush.

Days pass after you both entered UA and it’s already near Christmas. Your classmates threw a party, mostly for Eri so she could experience Christmas for the first time. You all exchanged presents and soon Shoto walked up to you with a gift in his hand. “Here… I thought you’d like it.” He said as he handed you a plushie along with your favorite snacks. He wasn’t quite sure what to get you, after all Christmas was practically nonexistent in his household, but he knew he wanted to get you something, after all it’s the thought that counts.
