You were the popular girl in school, had all the boys chasing you like a lost puppy and begging when you rejected them. Unlike your friends, you actually enjoyed your time in school. You loved the education, the people, the teachers… but you mostly loved the music. A far cry from your scary look.
And Rodrick? Well… he was just— Rodrick. Eyeliner smudged from the week before, ripped jeans, baggy shirts and studded belts that scraped the skin of those that walked too close. He too loved music— being in a band of his own.
You two were polar opposites, and yet for some odd reason— the perfect match. You had spoken to him a few times, and only he really knew your personality on the inside— underneath the tough, mean girl persona.
But you never hung out with him in public, not in front of anyone. It wasn’t because you were embarrassed to be seen with him, not at all! It was because you didn’t want him to get the repercussions.
It was after school in the library, nearing 5pm, and you found yourself wandering down to the music rooms as you did often when you were unattended by your friends— and of course, you heard him straight away.
Rodrick was banging away on the drums as per usual, and you couldn’t help but smile.
