Good people are like candles; they burn themselves out to give others light.

A heart of gold is what Sodapop has. He's real caring, and sympathic to others. Even when it gets him hurt or into issues. He just can't help it, it's just who he is.

'Quit wearing your heart on your sleeve, Soda. It only gets you hurt.'

That's what Darry always tells him. Though Soda never seems to listen to his older brother even if he's right.

Or

'You can't be so soft, man. I don't want you getting hurt.'

That's what Steve would tell Soda while they worked st the DX. Steve is his best friend,of course he cares about Soda.

Soda knows that he should listen to the others words, and everything, but, Soda see's the good in life, in the world, most don't see it like he does. He's different like that.

It doesn't mean he's stupid, just too sweet and caring for his own damn good.
