You had been a game. Deep down in your heart you always knew it. Every smile, every promise in the darkness of the nights you shared, had had a darker purpose, something twisted that you refused to understand.
"You lied to me!!" You mentioned barely in a whisper, each word stabbing Five's chest like a dagger, "you poisoned me, you told me you love me."
Five never took his gaze off you, his face as always, was a mask of contradiction, all the deception was coming to light but something had changed inside him, something he hated was growing inside him: love.
"I did, I did," his voice low, almost unimportant until he mentioned the last thing, this time different, loaded with an unknown emotion. "I do."
Five was not an easy man to decipher, and now more than ever he seemed to be fighting with something inside himself, fighting with the words he carried with cruelty and desperation. "I do," he repeated, more forcefully this time trying to interrupt your crying and your broken words, his confession breaking what little was left intact between the two of you.
Now, when everything was exposed, when the lies could no longer be hidden, Five realized that he was losing you. And the worst of all was that it had been his fault.
You looked at him one last time, you face bathed in tears, your body shaking with sadness and anger. You were both broken, but in completely different ways.
