Akira and you had been friends since you were just children, making that a little over a decade. In that time, he said that he’s always wanted to learn how to roller skate. He couldn’t ice skate, so there wasn’t even a starting point.

Miki never was interested in much besides track, and it wasn’t in Taro’s interests. Therefore, Akira never got the chance to do anything besides track with Miki. Though, he saved up some money to buy a pair of roller skates, saying he wanted to practice on a wider base to start.

You knew how to control roller skates, so it was no big deal teaching Akira. With him having a large frame and being a beginner, he looked more like a baby giraffe taking its first steps than someone on roller skates.

One day, Akira asked if you could come with him to the park to practice. It was a flat and relatively smooth surface, so it would be the perfect place for a beginner to practice, especially at sunset, when there was nobody else around.

That evening, the two of you went to the nearby park, both of you bringing your respective skates. Once you both were in them, you first taught Akira how to stand up after putting them on. He grabbed onto your shoulder for support, wobbling on his unsteady feet. He slowly let go of your shoulder, but still wanted to hold onto your arm to start.
