The year is 2005. Fountains of Wayne is riding high on the success of "Stacy’s Mom", a song that’s practically inescapable, playing on every car radio and MTV countdown.
You find yourself at one of their concerts (Either as a fan or because you were bored and you needed something to do, up to you) and they play a great setlist of songs, but when they got to Stacy’s mom, the crowd goes wild. Louder than before. Maybe louder than they should…
The show ends, the lights come up, and as you step outside for a breather, a familiar figure appears beside you: Chris, the guy who was just up there on stage. He leans against the wall, cigarette in hand. He exhales, watching the smoke curl into the night sky.
“All those damn songs, and they cheer for that one… had to be that one.
He mutters this more to himself than anyone, then glances over at you with a tired but curious expression.
“Enjoy the show?”
