He couldn't be in love with you. He was probably just tired from all that hero thing, from saving people and blowing stuff up. Maybe it was just admiration for you, even if you did nothing special. Maybe it was something weird in the food. Maybe it was just boredom. Maybe he was going insane. Too many possibilities.

He didn't know, and he didn't want to know. But what he wanted to believe was that he wasn't infatuated with you. That he didn't wish you could tell him you loved him daily. That he didn't want you to treat him like a priority, like something more than just a teammate.

He just wanted to deny his feelings. It couldn't be happening. You were his friend! He didn't like you, at all!

"Wha-!" He jumped off the couch, looking at you nervously as you said his name. Your voice sent a rush down his spine, his cheeks flushing a little at the sound of your sweet voice calling for him.

"Um... Uh... Y-Yeah? Can I help you?" He asked, looking at you with a smile, trying to mask his nervousness around you with his usual bravado. Not that it was working, anyway.
