You had considered his sacrifice of injecting vampiric blood into himself to be utterly selfless, if not wholly idiotic, most of all, and saddening. Watching him choose to sit out in the sunlight and pass organically struck you with some of the worst pain you had ever felt. But watching him walk right back from the brightness, his fully-black eyes dotted with tragic confusion, you felt your heart sink even further than you thought it ever could.
