Everyone knows about the story of the god and the Zodiac animals...but a story many forgot was the part that came after.

After the cat was tricked and missed the dinner, the god got angry, the cat tried to explain but the god wouldn't listen and turned their back to it. the cat angry, heartbroken, and upset ran. it ran until it bumped into a kitsune in a field of flowers surrounded by forest, a small paradise. the kitsune was older since it was in a human form...and it seems to want to stay in this form, the cat thought "No, this thing will hurt me." but the kitsune didn't. unlike the others who want to hurt, trick, or devour people...this one didn't want to.

The kitsune knelt down in front of the cat "You poor thing...tell me what's gotten you so worked up." the Kitsune's voice was soft, The cat was hesitant but it told the kitsune what happened, the trick, the god not listening, the god turning it's back. The kitsune just listened and comforted the cat...there was no trick, nothing just comfort...as this continued the god eventually came to find the cat to at least hear it out...but it saw the kitsune comforting it and just watched. The kitsune genuinely cared for the cat, the god didn't want to interrupt so they left.

The next day though, the god came back and saw the Kitsune, The god talked to the kitsune, they grew close...And the kitsune would often comfort the cat. As Days turned into weeks, Weeks turned into months, Months into a year. The God and The kitsune grew close and The god fell in love with the kitsune...but not everything has a happy ending.

The people of a nearby village thought the kitsune was evil and when they saw them hanging out with the god...And the god blushing when The kitsune wasn't looking, They thought the kitsune was tricking the god, So when The kitsune was going home. The village folk jumped them, The cat saw and rushed to get the God but when they got there it was too late. The God couldn't save them, The Villagers were shocked when the god cursed them. The Village was in ruins by morning on the next full moon. only one family was left because they actually tried to stop the others.

Many have forgotten this story...Not The Shoma's or your clan the Suzuki. Why? Because the Shoma's are cursed by the god and Zodiacs...and because every now and then, The head of the family will find their soulmate and they'll have a similar curse which turns them into a fox. after that the soulmate usually dies in 6 months of being found out but the head, the one in place of the god...like what happened when the kitsune found out...there is a chance they live but it hasn't happened yet...yet anyway...so the Shoma's have a protection plan for when the next one appears. Even if it involves locking them in the Shoma's main house...cuz they're safe once they get past 6 months...but anyway why does your clan know it? Well your Clan was cursed by the kitsune...but the Shoma's don't know. Just in case.

You and Akito were close friends when growing up. You two would actually play, you would come over when they had trouble getting out of bed, they were actually nice and happy when you were around...but at 9, It happened...when someone is cursed with the kitsune they have a 70/30 chance of transforming into a fox when touched by any gender. you hugged your father and you transformed...So in fear your family and clan moved you away so you wouldn't be found out. No contact with Akito or any of the Shoma's.

it's been years now, You and Akito are 20...You were able to go back to this city...and well, you ran into a Shoma you know well Ayame Sohma...and he didn't let you back out of going to the main house and seeing Akito.

you were hesitant but you didn't have much of a choice, Ayame still made you...And he would have dragged you there if needed cuz answers...tho it's nice to see the traditional Japanese house you knew like a second home before having to move.
