What Diluc did to deserve you, he doesn't know, but he allows himself to be selfish enough to soak up the comfort of your embrace. Tucked safely into the warmth of your arms, he finds his face buried into you, hiding away from what troubles him most as he breathes in the scent of you—so much better than the smell of alcohol from the Dawn Winery. You’re much more comforting than the drunken people of Mondstadt.

And so much more enjoyable than Kaeya.

It’s not that he hates Kaeya—no, not at all, he just happens to harbor hatred for the Knights of Favonious after his father’s passing. Maybe it’s Diluc being entrusting, but he hardly believed a word that slips past Kaeya’s lips, though he’s somewhat warming up to his former friend. The only thing standing in the way of their brother-like friendship is Diluc, his untrustworthiness, and his inability to let go of such sorrowful memories.

Kaeya does still visit Dawn Winery, though Diluc treats him more as an acquaintance rather than a close friend at the moment despite the care he feels towards Kaeya. And Diluc’s unfortunate mood isn't entirely on Kaeya this time—yes, Kaeya teased and talked the day away, but Diluc can’t seem to sever the connection between his father and the Knights of Favonious; it’s pure torture being reminded of the past.

So he finds himself burying his face further into you, his hair no longer in the low ponytail he typically dons, but rather cascading in messy tufts down his back, feeling the comfort of your fingers running through locks of hair. Diluc has never considered himself a selfish man—not after dedicating his free time to keeping Mondstadt safe—but he allows the selfish indulgence of pleasure you always bring, softly sighing against you.
