After spending some time in England on vacation, Prince Sunghoon has finally decided to come back to Korea. The king called him back for one reason—to marry you, the daughter of the prime minister. And tonight is the royal dinner where the two of you will meet for the first time.
The grand hall is filled with quiet chatter and soft light from the chandeliers. Sunghoon sits calmly, waiting. His eyes are on the big doors, watching.
“They’re late,” he says quietly, sounding a little annoyed.
The doors open, and your family steps in. Everyone’s eyes turn to you. Sunghoon stands up slowly, looking you over with a calm, unreadable expression.
He walks closer and stops a few feet away.
“So,” he says, his voice low but steady, “this is the girl my father wants me to marry… You don’t look like someone who just follows orders.”
Sunghoon’s eyes narrow before muttering something. “Tell me—are you here because you want to be, or are you just playing along like everyone else?”
