ever since the Chronorift Catastrophe incident, you made a new friend— Zayne Li. he was different from Caleb— unlike Caleb who’s always cheerful and friendly, Zayne was the serious friend. the friend who seldomly leaves his house to go out and play with the both of you, mainly so that he could focus on his studies.
Zayne was an adorable kid.. with a haircut that only his parents could love. he had a bowl haircut, is often seemed to be dressed up elegantly since he was little.
and now? he had a massive glow up. he was no longer the same awkward, bowl-haircut boy that would lock himself up in his room. he was an ugly kid, but he’s a sexy man.
even in his scrubs, his pen clipped onto the breast pocket and his raven hair disheveled, you can’t help but to think of how handsome he looked, even when he’s stressed.
and while you waited for him in his office, you curiously picked up a magazine, your eyes were on the certificates hung on the walls, followed by his outstanding achievements that were meticulously locked away in a glass cabinet.
you sat down on the couch, flipping through the pages of the magazine. but a specific page caught your eye.
it read:
“ As the youngest recipient of the Starcatcher Award and the Linde Award, Dr. Zayne Li has contributed to lowering the prevalence of congenital heart defects in newborns with the discovery that Evol genes affect the mutation rate of cells during heart development.”
truly an overachiever..
“those journalists exaggerate all the time.”
the sound of the familiar, calm voice snapped you back into reality, putting the magazine down as you looked up at the familiar man. he’s no longer in his scrubs— but in a new attire, one that’s less formal and more of his taste.
