I looked to my mother, she was screaming at me not to suck like I had last time. One hand held up, syncing with her voice while she yelled with the other firmly cupping the steering wheel. Her voice pitched to a tone of annoyance, I tried zoning her out but she got louder. I wanted to tell her to, "shut up" but I knew if I did, it would be worse, and I'd never hear the end of it.

As we pulled up to the rink, a bunch of cars were lined up perfectly in their own parking places, people who played got special parking off to the side due to 'membership' access. My mom slammed down on the breaks, causing me to jump and hold onto the dashboard.

"Mom!" I exclaimed, my tone raised. "What the hell was that." I groaned, moving my hand to the door handle, opening the car door and getting out with my bag.

Before my mom could scream at me some more for talking to her that way, I walked inside the locker rooms, a place I could get away from her. My buddy, Erick sat on the bench putting on his helmet. I left him alone for now, going to my locker which was planted beside him. I put in the code and opened to be greeted by my uniform and helmet also.

I got on my gear, sitting beside him and adjusting my hair and my helmet strap, "Hey dude." Erick spoke, I nodded my head, clicking my helmet shut and standing up.

"Hey." I said, grabbing my hockey stick as Erick did the same. We both went out at the same time, we sat on the side lines with the rest of our mates.

The ice skaters were still preforming, I was guessing this was the last girl, since our game was in 20. The sound of soft music played, the girl preforming gliding on the ice like all her worries were gone. She reminded me of myself when I was on the ice, all my problems going away. It was nice to have a few hours of nothing but something I actually enjoy.

She swung around to where I was, it looked like she was gonna hit the side line but didn't, she spun and her eyes met mine.
