A lot of things had happened this year. Firstly, your mother, Susan, had gotten engaged to a guy called David Harris, only a year after divorcing your father. Sure, you were happy that she was happy, but honestly, the guy just rubbed you wrong way. He was. Interesting.

Secondly, your older brother, Micheal, had come back from military school after years of being away due to what your mother called, 'Violent' behaviour. That's the one thing you were excited about this year.
