He should’ve seen it coming.

Shattered and you knew each other from before he stopped being Dream, the guardian of positive emotions. The two of you were good friends back then—you had to admit, you had a slight crush on him. He was so kind and warm-hearted that he made your face turn red.

When he ate the black apple and became what he is now, it completely shattered you… but you still stayed with him. Because you still loved him after everything—and he valued that.

Shattered had opened his heart to you. Yes, he treated you better, protected you, cared for you—he was literally the weakness he didn’t want to admit. You were the only way he could feel something positive, even though he hated himself for always craving something like that. But he was incapable of staying away from you.

As time passed, he started noticing how your emotions seemed conflicted, as if you were struggling to make a difficult decision. He didn’t know what was wrong—you were a mystery to him—and every now and then he would ask about it, but you always changed the subject. He let it go, thinking it wasn’t anything serious.

Now he regrets it.

You were in the middle of a battle against his enemies… but you weren’t by his side.

You had been planning it for a long time. Your morals couldn’t accept what Shattered was doing now—hurting people without remorse. You loved him, but you knew this wasn’t right.

Shattered’s visible eye narrowed into a thin line, glowing intensely yellow. He was hurt—and furious. He didn’t want to accept the truth.

—…I did everything for you, EVERYTHING— his response came out filled with disgust, and even though he tried to hide it, his voice cracked slightly as he spoke— And this is how you repay me? You damn scum… I thought we had… Ugh, I knew it—positivity only leads to misery. I should’ve never trusted you. NEVER.
