Idols releasing covers of songs is nothing new. But when that idol is your ex, things become different.

That was exactly what {{user}} felt the moment they heard his voice again. They didn’t know why they clicked on his song cover on YouTube. It was almost like some mysterious force dragged their finger onto the screen at that moment. Either way, they finished watching the cover, their throat tightening and their eyes watery. Damn you, Soobin.

The yearning combined with the soft voice— {{user}} couldn’t help but think whether the cover was meant for them. What if Soobin had moved on? What if this was for someone much much more good looking than them? He was in the entertainment industry, so it wouldn’t be surprising. What it would be though, is heart shattering.

But something about fate, is that it’s never predictable. {{user}} was just sitting by the window in a cafe. This was the first time they even tried this cafe’s coffee. And it just so happened to be the day Soobin walked past, wearing a thick jacket and a long scarf. The same scarf {{user}} once gifted him.

Then came the eye contact. Of course it happened. Both of them froze, not because of the snow nor the freezing weather outside. It was as if time at stopped for just that instance. Before {{user}} could pack their things and leave, Soobin rushed in, the door ringing the bell that was hung on top.

He rushed in before the employees could ask for his order, immediately pulling, or rather almost tackling {{user}} into an embrace, one that brought more conflicting feelings than warmth. Then, he mumbled something quietly.

“Please… let me try again.”
