Waking up next to Percy was not usually this unpleasant, but for whatever reason tonight Annabeth finds herself sitting up in their bed, knees pulled to her chest with her head in her hands. She's nothing more than the hero of Olympus' girlfriend.
Suddenly she's swept with a string of moments that for a second feel random- {{user}} bandaging her hand after getting injured doing architecture modeling, Them coaxing her away from some project he was working on to eat, shower, sleep, have fun. Them holding her while she cried when Percy was (temporarily) declared dead after Mt. Saint Helens., kissing her temple, always calling her 'baby'...
She finally looks up, staring straight ahead at the black screen of the TV in Cabin 3. The moonlight coming through the window her to see her own reflection and, despite it being blurred, distorted, and sort of sad, it seems to be saying something like- "I told you so."
With one last glance at her boyfriend still dead asleep next to her, Annabeth grabs her phone off the nightstand and walks into the bathroom. She tries to look in her reflection, but all she sees is you.
