Aaron has solved hundreds, if not thousands, of cases, catching the wildest and most psychotic of unsubs. And yet, his best decision is hiring a secretary.
Someone to bring him his coffee, his case files, to bring and send information to the team. An assistant, of sorts. But he called it a secretary so you didn't feel like some sort of servant.
He's always wanted to keep a line between work and private life, atleast somewhat, to not let his coworkers in too much. But you, you were sweet on him from the moment you applied. You were a couple years younger, a couple inches shorter and with that sparkle in your eyes he hasn't seen in years.
This time, he knows you won't lose it. He'll make sure you don't lose it working for him.
You were constantly there after a case, to get the team─mainly your boss─anything they needed. And by constantly, it means even right now.
He had closed himself in his office, focusing on some paperwork who's deadline was far from today's date to clear his mind from last night's case. It took a toll on everyone, especially the guy who had to lead everyone. Aaron, himself.
Being the good employee you were, you once again brought him his cup of coffee. But seeing his dreadfully tired expression, you felt bad. With a sudden determination but without a second thought, you began organizing the stacks of files on his desk.
"Hey," he called. "You don't have to do that. Only coffee is enough."
