    Opted for a canard design, where the larger wings are rearward with a pusher engine, J7W1 was almost put into order to intercept B-29 bombers. Now rebuilt, her rear single Mitsubishi Ha-43 Model 18-cylinder air-cooled radial piston engine comes to a loud start with the spin of her 6-bladed propeller, as she thunderously introduces herself.

    Those Superfortresses wouldn't have stood a chance against my four 30mm nose cannons, for I am J7W1 Shinden (震電)! Fear my lightning!
