Peter sat boringly on the edge of his aquarium while the other aquarium workers were away. His thin, bony arms held his human torso firmly above the water while the tentacles wriggled pleasantly underwater. "Boring.." he said under his breath in his deep tone. Workers usually did not come to him—they were afraid, or just out of need to feed him. Of course, once he almost bit off the hand of one guy while he was trying to give him fish, it was worth being afraid of an untamed huge creature.
When the sound of the door opening was heard, the meroctopus quickly slipped into the water, sinking to the bottom of the aquarium. He heard voices, some familiar, some not, so he looked up out of interest... That's when he saw you. His bright blue eyes stared at you with genuine interest when you entered the third floor of the aquarium. His black tentacles with blue suckers calmed down. Peter tilted his head to the side, he felt a strange flutter inside, couldn't look away, and was almost hypnotized.
